But if there is only one orientation option for the coincidence, Inventor should take it. If the orientation of the coincidence needs to be specified afterwards then sure. Nineteen times out of ten, when a user selects two planes or faces, they want them make them coincident. When it discovers that a Mate Constraint will cause an error, it should offer a selection box where you can: Change this Constraint to a Flush Constraint Flip conflicting Mate/Flush constraints in order to find a solution Cancel the Constraint For bonus points, make it so that "Change this constraint to a flush constraint" can be selected as the automatic option. Inventor needs to get a bit smarter when it comes to Mate and Flush Constraints.
